Council Tax, Utilities & Insurance

Council tax

Council Tax is a property-based tax; payment is therefore the tenants responsibility. There is a clear legal obligation on a property occupier to register for Council Tax and a specific clause in the tenancy agreement, to which we will draw your attention to, also clearly highlights the tenant’s obligation to register for and pay Council Tax. Celtic Lettings will advise the relevant local authority of any new tenants details and date of occupation.

Utilities

Gas, Electricity, Water, Heating oil etc
All household and Utility bills are the responsibility of the tenant unless specifically stated otherwise in the tenancy agreement.Celtic Lettings will read all meters immediately before a new tenant takes occupancy and pass the these and the new tenants details to the relevant utility company.

TV Licence
It is the responsibility of the tenant to ensure that a valid TV licence is held for the property. If moving within the UK TV licences are transferable between properties.

Telephone/internet/satellite or cable TV
Any telephone /internet/sky or cable service provision and payment of associated bills is the responsibility of the tenant.

Insurance

We will be pleased to arrange any insurance you require. The landlord grants the tenancy of the property upon the condition that the tenant holds insurance to protect the tenants possessions and cover accidental damage caused by the tenant to any furniture, fixtures or fittings in the property. Buildings insurance is the responsibility of the landlord.
